Car Chase Brings Tragedy

A terrible story from here today as two news helicopters collided in mid-air. All on board were killed and on live T.V., no less.
Fortunately, all that viewers saw was a broken-up picture that spun in circles for a couple seconds before the studio cut into the live broadcast.
Why am I mentioning this? Because it all started with a car chase. Because some idiot didn't stop when the police tried to pull him over and thought the best thing to do was to drive wrecklessly throuth the streets of downtown Phoenix without a care of anyone other than himself. These chases seem to happen quite often here and it makes it seem like we still are the wild west. I really don't know what kind of brain these morons have, if any, that makes them do something so stupid. Do they do it because they know they'll get a slap on the wrist from our court system? Are they without conscience? Are they running because this is the last step in some crime-spree? Why are they worried...they'll just get bail and make a run for it and who is left picking up the pieces? All the innocent people who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm sure it will come down to one of these helicopters being at fault in this tragedy but I hold the coward who was running from the law responsible. I hope the courts do too.

It all started when greedy TV stations realized that tragedies, car chases, hurricanes, tornadoes, and destruction get higher ratings. That is why in Florida there are idiot reporters standing outside during hurricanes filming trees being blown away. It is why there are reporters filming tornadoes, gun-fights, etc. It is why there are helicopters chasing the action in the hope of filming a car crash or other tragedy. It is called GREED and TV Journalism.
It is the ultimate irony that these poor folks crashed while they were trying to film a crash, arrest, and/or gun-fight. The folks who died are at the bottom of the Corporate broadcasting money tree. The owners and share-holders who make money from these people risking their lives every day won't be at the funerals. They will be meeting with their lawyers to insulate themselves from any lawsuits.
Maybe if some so-called journalists had the guts to tell their bosses that they weren't going to film hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. then this would not happen.
Considering all the car chases and other tragedies that are constantly being filmed by TV helicopter crew, it is a miracle that they aren't falling out of the sky almost every day.
I actually thought of you when I heard what happened. It's really a tragedy what happened with the helicopters. And yeah, you'd think that the car chases wouldn't be big news and such. Not worth it unless the person was armed and dangerous and people had to know in order to stay out of the way!
it does seem like such a senseless tragedy...and for what?
If it bleeds ... it leads. I wonder why the press has not camped out on the lawns of the family left behind. Why, would it be horrible to torture these poor souls who lost loved ones?
